Xiam Technologies add Social Networking Analysis to their MPOS solution to unlock the value of non-browsing Mobile Subscribers

Dublin, Ireland 190506 – Xiam, the leading provider of solutions for Mobile Content Marketing, has strengthened their state-of-the-art recommendations engine with the addition of Social Networking Analysis (SNA). SNA will form part of the industry leading MPOS solution which enables Mobile Operators to market and promote content to their customers on a one-to-one basis.

“Social Networking Analysis (SNA) is a highly specialised area that brings the power of accurate subscriber specific recommendations to the mobile sphere. Typically, this will be used to drive recommendations to subscribers who have little or no past purchase behaviour and about whom little is known”, explained Hugh O’ Donoghue, co-founder and CTO of Xiam Technologies.

“The solution is already delivering real-time content recommendations to board subscriber bases using a range of techniques optimised for the mobile content environment”, said O’ Donoghue. “SNA will be used in conjunction with these techniques to further strengthen MPOS’s best of breed recommendations technology”.

“SNA opens the entire customer base to being individually targeted with accurate recommendations, actively drawing them to the mobile portal, converting them to content consumers and significantly increasing the Operators’ ARPU. The advanced intelligence of the MPOS solution is able to recognise the different, multiple social networks of each individual customer, for example; work, family and friends, and tailor recommendations accordingly”, said Kurt Lillywhite, VP Marketing of Xiam Technologies.

MPOS uses a combination of methods to derive a range of accurate, timely and appropriate recommendations for individual customers. The recommendations engine then determines the order in which the recommendations are presented to customers. The key strength of using these techniques is that targeted recommendations can be always made across a customer base with a divergent range of available profile data.

For example, a prepaid subscriber who has had little or no interaction with the portal and no purchase history will be able to receive individual recommendations based on the preferences of members connected to their social networks identified by MPOS as well as using other variables such as type of handset and cross pollinating the results with other recommendation methods.

According to O’ Donoghue. “We see this approach as a critical piece of the recommendations puzzle. Especially in the prepaid segment which is the demographic that typically buy the most content over mobile. Adding an SNA strand to the recommendations process will enable operators to significantly grow revenues among this important group. The flexibility of the MPOS data model broadens the range of content recommended and sold –— promoting the so–called “long tail” model where a large amount of niche content can be sold with no extra overheads.”
