Dublin 17th October 2003: Deloitte has presented Xiam Limited, the mobile middleware and software applications company, with the Technology Fast 50 Special Award. This award has been established to recognise companies who have attracted the attention of the programme organisers and Xiam stood out for its achievement and contribution to the Irish technology sector.

Announcing the winners at Deloitte's award ceremony in Dublin last night, David O'Flanagan, Partner with Deloitte, Dublin said: "The Fast 50 programme has always been a reliable indicator of whether innovation is leading to more growth and wealth creation. These companies have demonstrated how to survive and thrive in today's market by helping their customers reduce their costs and improve their performance."

O'Flanagan continues " this programme seeks out those companies that have shown impressive growth rates in the telecommunications, hardware, software and biotechnology markets over the last three financial years. Despite the difficult global environment, Irish technology companies are continuing to grow with average turnover growth of more than 269% in a three-year period."

Speaking on behalf of Xiam, Colm Healy, CEO, said, "Xiam is delighted to receive this award which recognises the remarkable progress which we have made in the industry. It is a great tribute to the hard work and dedication of all the team and I look forward to continued success in the future."

The awards ceremony took place in the Guinness Storehouse, St James's Gate, Dublin on 16th October.
