IDStxtra and Ireland's Xiam Partner Up for M-Commerce Boom
Dublin, Ireland - 22nd September 2003 - Information Dialling Services' m-commerce division IDStxtra and Irish Dublin based company Xiam Limited have announced a partnership to service the booming Australian m-commerce market using Xiam's carrier-grade technology.
IDS General Manager, Sam Galea stated that his company conducted a worldwide search and tested a number of technology platforms before choosing Xiam as a technology partner.
He said that "The major reasons for choosing Xiam were: the system's proven performance in the well-developed European market; its powerful throughput; its MMS capability and the system's well-designed, user-friendly interface."
One of the system's primary modules is the Xiam Media Platform that will enable IDStxtra to offer clients a web interface so they can easily design and manage their own SMS marketing campaigns in-house.
Speaking on behalf of Xiam, Philip Hayes, Business Development Manager for Asia Pac, said, "Our partnership with IDS is an exciting new step in the expansion of our activities in the Australian Market. With the increase of premium rate services in this market there is immense potential for demonstrating the power and capability of the Xiam Media Platform, which has been uniquely designed to enable users to easily design and manage their own campaigns and encourages widespread launch of new services. I believe that the strength of our technology coupled with IDS' proven track record in the communications industry will guarantee a successful launch of new premium rate services to this market. "
IDStxtra has made available premium SMS pricing and revenue share - a similar product to their well-established 190 Premium Rate voice services.
"We expect that with the introduction of premium SMS there will be increased market demands for more diverse SMS applications and greater client control of campaign design, scheduling, database control, tracking and reporting", said Mr. Galea.
"Another particularly strong application of Xiam's technology is the platform's ability to interface easily with any broadcast scheduling and programming stream allowing TV and radio an enormous amount of scope to integrate SMS promotions into 'live" programming".
IDStxtra is offering demonstrations of Xiam's Technology now and has already begun offering premium SMS in association with Telstra, Optus & Vodafone.
Premium SMS will enable marketers to charge end-users in the range of $0.25 to $4.00 per message for direct marketing campaigns, promotions and content delivered via IDStxtra.
